Competitive sailing is one of the most rewarding parts of our sport. MSA’s Sunday Morning Learn to Race Adult Sailing Classes are designed to introduce sailors to that world!
The program welcomes sailors who already have intermediate or advanced boat-handling skills and are ready to take the next step! Each Sunday morning begins with a focused dockside briefing led by MSA Coaches and ASP Instructors. Topics rotate throughout the season and include essential racing concepts such as:
Starting line positioning and timing
Upwind tactics and wind shifts
Sail trim for maximum boat speed
Mark roundings and boat-handling under pressure
Racing strategy and fleet positioning
For many sailors, Sunday mornings become the gateway into a much larger sailing world. Participants build confidence on the racecourse, develop the instincts that define strong racers, and become part of Manchester Harbor’s active racing community.
Whether your goal is to compete regularly, improve your tactical understanding of sailing, or simply experience the excitement of crossing the finish line with a fleet of boats around you, the Sunday Morning Learn to Race program is the perfect place to begin!
