Supporting MSA
There are many ways to contribute to our mission, each targeting different needs and dreams!
If you'd like to discuss making a gift or have any questions, please reach out to us!
Annual Fund
MSA’s Annual Fund provides essential, unrestricted operational support. While tuition revenue covers core operating costs, your support provides capacity for program improvement and development that would otherwise require increases to service fees. Distribution varies by year, but often offsets permitting and insurance costs, instructor training and retention, special events, and more.
Capital Contributions
Fleet investment is a key aspect of the improvement and growth of our programs. Our vision for 2026 requires additional Opti Prams, safety boats, and a full-refit of the C420 and Lasers used in our Beginner-level classes.
To learn more about our vision for the future and how you can help, please contact a Board member or send us an email.
Scholarship Fund
Our capacity to expand access to sailing is central to MSA’s mission and sets us apart from traditional sailing programs and clubs. Contributions from individual donors and The Hooper Fund have allowed roughly $6,000 in scholarships to be issued over the last four years. The Scholarship Fund is the perfect way to help us share our sport beyond the limited number previously invited..
In-Kind Gifts
MSA accepts in-kind donations, such as boats, sails, and equipment, or financial securities. If you’d like to discuss making an in-kind gift, please let us know!
Housing Support
We are fortunate that our growing community of engaged sailors and supportive families, beautiful location, and well-equipped fleet appeals to talented instructors and coaches from around the country—who bring expertise, energy, and national-level experience to our program. By sharing their skills with our sailors and their co-workers, distinguished teachers help ensure that the next generation of MSA-grown instructors become exceptional leaders on and off the water.
To make this possible, we are looking for local families and supporters who may be able to provide housing—whether a spare bedroom, an in-law apartment, or a carriage house—for visiting instructors and coaches. Our staff works for roughly 10 weeks from mid-June through late-August.
If you are interested in learning more about hosting an instructor for all or part of our summer season, please contact the Program Director.
Donate Your Time
Lend a hand, make a splash! MSA thrives on the dedication of its leadership, instructors, coaches, and sailors, but volunteer efforts help us execute our programs at the next level. Your time and energy help transform great experiences into something extraordinary!
Every hour counts, whether spent working with our Junior Sailing Program, executing the Manchester Green Regatta, or commissioning our fleet in the spring. With your help, we can ensure MSA remains a place where sailors can learn, grow, and fall in love with the sport.
If you’d like to be part of our volunteer crew, please reach out to the Program Director during the off-season to explore how you can help out.
