Swim Test Requirement

To participate in MSA's Junior Sailing Program, every sailor must complete a swim test at least once a summer. The purpose of this swim test is to evaluate sailors' swimming ability as well as comfortability in the water. Per state requirements (105 CMR 430.00), this swim test shall include entering and exiting the water, swimming a distance, and treading water. In addition, MSA sailors will practice doffing and donning their PFD while in the water.

The swim test will be performed by a Swim Assessor and supervised by on-duty lifeguards. If you have questions or concerns about this swim test please contact the MSA Director at director@manchestersailing.org.
