Overview

Manchester Sailing Association (MSA), organized in 1971, is a not-for-profit community sailing program that teaches sailing and racing at all skill levels with a structured curriculum while promoting safety, fun and sportsmanship.

MSA's summer program offers sailing lessons for children and adults of all ability levels from Manchester and the surrounding communities. The program takes place at scenic Tuck's Point and on the docks of the Manchester Yacht Club, with easy access to the Manchester Harbor, the surrounding bays, and the open ocean. Our staff works hard to create a fun, educational environment for all participants. We offer classes for first-timers with no previous experience, intermediate-level sailors, and competitive racers.

MSA is proud to provide boats to all participating sailors. Our young and well-maintained fleet includes Zim Prams, Optimist Dinghies, C420s, Lasers/ILCA Dinghies, Open Skiffs, Ideal 18s, and more. All class registration fees provide access to a boat during class times and during our weekly Saturday Morning free-sail event.

Social events include Misery Island Day and the Annual Cook-Out Awards Ceremony. During Misery Island Day, every summer sailor is invited to dress up as a pirate and sail to Misery Island for a full-day of  sailing, games, and a treasure hunt! At the end of the season, MSA hosts an annual cook-out and awards ceremony at Tuck's Point for all sailors and their parents to celebrate every sailor's acheivements.

MSA's summer camp complies with the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and is licensed by the local board of health.
