The Manchester Sailing Association offers sailing lessons for children and adults of all ability levels. MSA is a community sailing program open to both residents and non-residents of Manchester. The program takes place at scenic Tuck's Point and on the docks of the Manchester Yacht Club, with easy access to the Manchester Harbor and surrounding waters. Although the emphasis is on junior sailing, MSA also offers an adult sailing class. Organized in 1971, the mission of the MSA is to provide the young people of Manchester and its surrounding communities a comprehensive opportunity to learn the sport of sailing, experience the joys of boating, acquire an enduring respect for the water and share in the fellowship of each other's company.
MSA supports both recreational and competitive sailing in a fun, educational environment. Sailors of all skill levels will find a place in the program - we have classes from beginner sailors to competitive race teams. MSA owns a fleet of boats including Dyer Dhows, Optimist Dinghies, 420s, and Rhodes 19s, all available for classes and open Saturday sailing.
Social events include Misery Island Day and Annual Cook-out/Awards Ceremony. Children dress up as pirates and sail to Misery Island for a fun afternoon of sailing, treasure hunts and games. At the end of the season, MSA hosts an annual cook-out and awards ceremony at Tuck's Point for all sailors and their parents.
